Some very useful stuff there! :ok

Any more thoughts about answering the re-occurring "which oil should I put in my van?" questions, in the new owners section?

If someone comes up with a list of engines and a list of suitable oils, then am happy to put it in (provided I'm indemnified against disasters by said list creator :rollin )

.. can't be too careful, hehe :wink:

There's still a lack of quality information arriving here, esp. we need v.experienced and knowledgeable early and air-cooled peeps... who can write informed articles up

Are the oil threads that I linked to on p.5 of this thread any use?

I did this diagram a while ago, might be of use to members ?

Basically it allows the stereo to run from both battery's, so if you have an isolator switch on your leisure battery the stereo will still work whilst driving, plus allows all charge thats going to the leisure battery to actually go into it rather than powering the stereo at the same time.

Had this set up on mine for a good while now, and when the ignition is switched on the relay latches to the main battery when off it latches to the leisure battery, if the relay was to fail it will fail latched on the leisure battery side.

Some incorrect information regarding steering column bushes

The following comment is incorrect

lhd: They are about £1.00 each and make a massive difference when renewed. Find a local Cordwallis and order them, its not worth messing around for that money.

Obsolete at VW and classic parts. They are now only available from Justkampers part number J10271

Tony,

Would a link in Newcomers to this topic any good... https://club8090.co.uk/wiki/Pe ... oil_change

I can add anything from those earlier links if you detail it (in fact was sure I'd done those links a while ago, including the image :oops: )

Great

What about a few pictures as well from this post?

In my infinite sadness I took a very short video showing the play in the steering bushes. Would that be any use to the wiki?

Broken link at the bottom of this page:
https://club8090.co.uk/wiki/In ... _suppliers" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

"V-Lux: Cushions supplied and made to order (quickly!) Devon. You will be supporting the employment of the disabled and the finished products are highly specified and everyone so far is delighted. See 80-90 thread and pictures here"

The link to the 80-90 thread doesn't work anymore. :(

E D I T; just noticed that some of the other links on that page don't work:
* the list of gsf shop addresses
* Beever auto panels
* Schofields (might be their website having problems?)
* jk (again, might be their website)
* AW Engineering
* stainless steel hose clips
