My last post may have been a little vague. I am completely happy that the engine is timed up 100% accuratly. When the engine is tarted it fires, and revs to a fast idle and stays there, there is no variation in engine speed if the throttle is moved, it stays at the same speed. I have already checked...

We are all timed up proper and it has been checked by a local garage, who have susggested that the pump is at fault, the engine starts and runs but is unresposive to the throttle, I am unsure if the pump has failed or if it isnt bled properly. Can anyone suggest anything to end this misery? I must b...

there has been a little development with this at last, i have now found the correct timing marks and set the timing so everything is correct, needs checking tho as the same symptoms exsist exceot the engin runs for a little longer and fires a little easier. still not fixed it tho!! will need to rech...

Looking at the tdc position on the flywheel in the pict dont look convincing .If you fit the the 1.6n/td flywheel &clutch there is a V mark cut for tdc yeah used the 1.6na fly wheel and clutch, there is a fixed poiner which lines up with a raised mark, i have tried as best i can to photo that. ...

Its warming up a bit now so time to start sorting this mess out!! I have checke the cam position, the crank position and the fuel pump position and i am happy that it is timed to No1 TDC, the fuel pump hole lines up as does the marker on the fly wheel, it is all perfect, i have installed a replaceme...

Just an update, still not got this running and it is blooming cold outside! and i have turned into a softy :run When it warms up a bit I intend on checking all the timing marks again and double checking the cam posion, as i may have timed it TDC on No.4 instead of No.1. There is six hows in the fuel pump pulley, 4 large, 1 medium and. Small one. When I set the timing I used the small one. Is this correct? Should I have owed the medium hole which is opposite the small hole?

It was out but it is now 100% spot on, I have checked and double checked it and it is now spot on. I think I have a fuel problem, I think I need to bleed the pump

So now the pump body is full, it still won't get to the high pressure pump cos that's full of air too. There is a bleed screw on the side of the pump. Slacken this and crank over till fuel without bubbles issues forth. Tighten the bleed screw. I am unsure where this bleed valve is, can anyone help ...
