Thanks Kevtherev your drawing saved the day. By the way I was joking when I refered to Haynes as "The Bible",some good information but a bit light on some diagrams. Saying that I've still managed to find my way around my bus,and I've enjoyed working on it as well, although sometimes I think...

Sussed it. If anyone thinks I'm a bit of a thicky, you are probably right . I would consider myself quite bright. Sometimes things just don't go in. I've looked at an old thread & found a useful diagram posted by Kevtherev. Anyway I had number 3 & 4 lead the wrong way round. Scoobie feels lik...

Hi,could anyone tell me which is number one cylinder on 1.9DG watercooled engine. According to Wiki its the front cylinder on right as you look from rear. According to Haynes it is right hand cylinder nearest the fly wheel(I think that makes it the right rear :? ) Which is correct?.I am having a mar...

Battery question

Hi, I have a 1985 1.9 watercooled caravelle with a DG engine. The battery on at the minute is an Autostar Type 63. With a capacity of 40Ahr & cranking amps of 370. Is this the right battery for my vehicle? It normally starts ok if used regularly, but if left for a while is very reluctant and quit...

Water pipes

Hi,the metal water pipes on my 1985 Caravelle are perished. I've just looked on Just Kampers and they sell a flange that looks like you just fasten a rubber hose to.Would this do? Mine has gone from the right hand side of the engine block to the bottom of the water pump. Also the metal pipe that runs...

Thanks for all the replies,it seems people went off on a tangent a bit by the last post(I am not complaining. I am sure Jessica Simpson would look very nice all covered in years of gunk & stuff off the bottom of my T25) I have managed to get the pump off,I only snapped one bolt off holding the t...

Hi thanks for all your help earlier. I've decided to make a start on replacing the water pump. I've loosened the hoses and managed to get one thermostat bolt undone, unfortunately the bolt nearest the back of the vehicle has snapped. Will this stop the thermostat coming off? Does it slide off to the ...
