i had similar prob, the water was getting in through the top of one of the expansion tanks in the wheel arches (the valve on top of the expansion tank had rotted away) so in wet weather the wheel was throwing water up and ended up getting into the petrol tank

sounds the same prob that i have. i just carry a small hammer. when it happens i reach through the rear wheel arch and tap the solenoid a few times and hay presto (struggle to get the time to sort it properly)

figured it out, i had connected one of the ht leads in the wrong order (popping now sorted), yeah it was the basic throttle valve setting that i adjusted dohhh!. going to try and balance them out tomorrow with a home made vac gauge fingers crossed, cheers for the pointers.
