Re: Soiled Plugs / Power Down
I took my van in for it's MOT and the only thing it failed on was the emissions. The CO was ok, but the hydrocarbons were at 3000. Apparently a pass is 1200, but it really should be at about 200-300, according to the garage. I put new plugs, rotor arm and cap on 2 weeks ago. The garage reckons it's...

Re: Where can I buy carb bushings from?
D'oh! I have the high bid on some webers on ebay at present! :( If it doesn't work out I'll give you a shout. how much did you want for them and why did you remove them if you just had them refurbed? Umm, well I'd say they were done by Gasure about 18 months ago. He drilled out the originals and in...

Re: Where can I buy carb bushings from?
Hi All My 2.0 air cool carbs have slight play (1-2mm?) in the carb bushings (Solex 32-34 PDSIT-3). I gather this is a bad thing and may be part of the cause of my rough running. Where can I buy new bushings from? Is it a fairly easy push out old push in new job to do? Many thanks You can buy the re...

Re: Service Electrolux fridge?
My sister has a Devon with the original Electrolux? Fridge fitted. It certinly needs a check over and we had an issue (we assume with the ignitor unit) where there were sparks underneath. Is there anyone on here who does servicing or can recommend a local company that will? Thanks on her behalf, Pa...

Re: Solex throttle spindle bushings
My '81 a/c 2.0L on twin solex carbs won't settle to idle. I think it needs the bushings on the end of the spindle that opens the carbs replacing. Any ideas where I could order them from? I thought I would sort this out after getting my van fixed after it started firing on three cylinders. Turned ou...

OK so here's the bottom line: The local rolling road (recommended) fitted twin webbers after the MOT centre failed the bus on HC emission, gutted (first time ever for 8 years on emissions) :( ! This is a 1980 T25 2.0lt air-cooled Danbury :) . So the recommended rolling road said “Oh 2 hours sir and ...

New carbs fitted: what to do with breather pipe?
New carbs fitted and they've left the engine breather pipe with an extension and tied it off under the van pointing forward

What do others do with the breather pipe??
Thanks.

Handbrake efficiency MOT failure..
Peeps, Bus (1980 T25 a/c 2lt) failed MOT this morning on only handbrake efficiency  . Apparently only 15.8% on both rear wheels when minimum is 16%. This implies to me perhaps something between cable split and handbrake lever or it could be even amounts of rush on the handbrake cam levers on th...

Original part numbers (Rotor Arm)
Hi, I have a new (Bosch-GSF) rotor arm that is slightly different to the existing one (Bosch-Halfords), but identical to an old one? My Van is a 1980 T25 2lt Aircooled twin Solex all original CU engine code (Oh and sorry not for sale). The main differences are the lengths of the brass wiper that con...

Haynes cock-up #???
Well I made a nice little widget to measure the accelerator pump quantities on my Stock Twin Solex's. Said gizmo consisted of a bent piece of copper tube with a silicon manifold (to connect to the acc pump outlet) and a graduated vertical glass tube. This was marked with the Haynes min and max quant...
