OK so here's the bottom line:
The local rolling road (recommended) fitted twin webbers after the MOT centre failed the bus on HC emission, gutted (first time ever for 8 years on emissions)

! This is a 1980 T25 2.0lt air-cooled Danbury

.
So the recommended rolling road said “Oh 2 hours sir and she'll be done [time now 09:30hrs]"|. One hour later telephone call stating “you have major air leaks we need to re-do your inlet manifold gaskets, so we have permission sir?"|.
I ask “can you get the bus through the MOT"| they reply “No way, sir"| so I say “Ok replace the inlet manifold gaskets to cure the leaks...

"|
They then call at 17:00hrs and state they cannot get the emissions sorted as the carbs are sha**ed. The only option is new carbs and I've recently had the throttle bodies done (buy a man local to club 80:90) and new acc pumps! We agree a deal (I must have been stupid)

and they replace the trusty Solex's (70mph and 20mpg) with twin Webbers from EuroCarb in Reading.
They then have numerous attempts at setting up said webber carb kit during the next day; seems to be high HC...again...?
Any how; bus is finally ready to collect. Collect bus pay money (ouch) and drive away with no chokes (despite being told by foreman that chokes are fitted; even I know that is wrong)! Get no more than 1.5 miles up the road and there is oil pi**ing out everywhere!!!! Have a look and see that the engine breather has been misaligned and caused kink in said breather and thus engine crankcase pressure build up and therefore oil pi**ing out everywhere.
Interesting to note that the RAC man hadn't worked this one out yet was 99.9% wanting to buy said van

!
Drove bus home, after and the following weekend sorted out the engine breather probs. Then discovered on a test run that I lost all bakes (vacuum failed) f**k

!
Managed to get home and found the Webber kit included plastic right-angle bends for the brake servo-vacuum take off's on the inlet manifold...? A quick inspection showed that these were free to rotate; probably due to the differential expansion of the manifold-alloy and south-American-plastic!
Monday Morning I call Eurocarb in Reading and they state there is a metal kit available for the inlet manifold vacuum take-off rather than the plastic elbow!!!
I return to said rolling road (who fitted and tuned {??} cards) and confront with information and digi photos. They admit fault and agree to rectify, which they did but it took
TWO MOT attempts to get said bus through....
I'm not wanting to dish anyone (I've not named said company) I Just want to let people know of the service around here and also those planning on buying one of those upgrade carb kits think long and hard about all the “phaffing"| involved required..
Over and out,
M.
