Re: Paint Your Wagon - with a roller!

Have just started preping the bus for painting, but it's going to be a long job (lots of filling to be done first! ). I was thinking about doing it one panel at a time, although that might take me the rest of my life. I've just ordered the DVD to hopefully make things easier. Will post some p...

Re: Bulkhead removal on a twin-slider

I've got a twin slider with a bulkhead, but the previous owner cut a big chunk out of it for some reason. We're removing it with a grinder, but going to replace it with a bar to support the bench seat in the front. I'll probably put units there eventually, so not too bothered about the walk-through.

Hi mcalfie - I have the same problem on my van (both sides - double slider  ). Where did you find a replacement panel?

Hopefully I'll be getting my bulkhead out tomorrow or early next week. I'm replacing it with a bar and keeping the bench seat. Can't wait to get rid of it!

Re: another interior re-fit update 18/2/10

I see from your first post that your bulkhead behind the cab seats has been chopped up (same as mine!). Are you going to remove that or keep it? Do you have a bench seat? Sorry for all the questions, just interested!

Or, I can't afford to! My Basil's going to be a bit 'rat look' for a while, but not through choice!

Re: Best Type of Filler?

I'll get some pics tomorrow to show the type of thing I mean. I still have some poking about to do to find out the extent of the dodgyness that's gone on before. For example - I've just found a crack in the nearside front wheel arch that I think was filled at some point and painted over. I have no i...

(off to google crimping set - have a feeling it's not same as one I have in a cupboard next to my old hair straighteners) :) Lol, I wouldn't have had to go out and buy them! The ones I got were like these (http://www.maplin.co.uk/images/full/YP96E.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);retu...

Re: What have I done to my battery??

I did exactly the same thing a couple of weeks ago when disconnecting my flat battery for charging. 1 wire fell out of its little yellow plastic sheath, so before re-connecting the battery I went and bought a crimping set so I could re-attach the wire, assuming it was something important. When I act...

Re: Best Type of Filler?

and remember filler will absorb water like a sponge.. and rust any thing rustyfiable underneath it. Oh... that's a bit pointless then. So is welding the only way to make it last then? I'm resigned to getting someone to do the big bits (rusted through panels, hole in the floor, etc.), but there are ...

Best Type of Filler?

I can just see some of the responses to this question already! :run I'll be getting the very rusty/holey bits repaired properly, but there are a few little bits where I think filler will do the job. So my question is, what is the best type of filler to use? There are so many different types, and I w...
