4-speed adjustment explained

Post by CovKid »

Today I finally got around to finishing Itchyfeet's pictorial explanation of overhauling the 4-speed gear/shift rod mechanism. It now includes adjustment.

Takes an age to do them as I have to go into photobucket, save the image, crop it. resize it and compress it. Just need to link other gearbox WIKI pages to the adjustment section now....

Adjustment: https://club8090.co.uk/wiki/Ge ... _mechanism" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Phew.

Wouldn't it be a good idea to state which 4 speed gearbox linkage it refers too?

Indeed, amongst 1001 other things my familiy seem to want me to do today :D

Its the longest WIKI piece to date and will no doubt get bigger over time. Wait till we get on autos.... :shock:

Still tidying it all up but had enough for today. There are minor differences between diesel and petrol setups (the 5-speed one discusses this). The 4-speed one is relatively new but the differences are more to do with way front end is mounted. Adjustment may also be slightly different on a diesel but all the principles are the same. Not worth doing one for each type thats for sure - too much work. If anyone wants to provide pics and info on differences thats fine.
