Post by acw »

Any recommendations for the best oil for a 2l air cooled engine.

anybody use engine additives -slick 50 or the like, do they work or a waste of money.

Thanks for the help

This has been discussed so many times now. Use the search feature - and the WIKI which has a LOT on oil.

Funny thing was i searched for the term "oil", "engine oil" and several more combinations but kept geting "no suitable matches were found". it must not like the term "oil"

i thought it was very curious that there were no postings on oil types so asked the question

Sorry

No need to apologise ;)

You may have been using the "normal" search function on "normal" pages. I find that one can be a bit quirky. If you go to the knowledge base "wiki" and put oil in there you get this = Click here

I know very little about air cooled motors, so won't add anything ;)

regular oil and filter changes, every 3-5000 miles, will keep your engine in tip top condition
no need for that snake oil :D

I do mine every 6 months
