Ordered my new shinny headlamps, clear indicators and brake lights. New pressed metal plates have arrived (uk legal) and my mk5 golf rear vw badge. Will post a pic when I've swapped all the bits over.

Reckon you have picked the wrong base van if you want to start transplanting water cooled in. Someone has done a v8 on here and there are loads of scooby conversions.

Is there any bigger air cooled engines than a 2.0l to be fair i have not decided about the engine swap. Im just brainstorming. I don't want to change the look if the van. Im going to be kind with my restoration. Original with a twist..

Yeah, Porsche.   They do make the capacity bigger on the 2.0 but not sure how big. Not by a lot I doubt and I personally cannot see the point. A good 2.0 will cruise along nicely and It is all part of the charm. 2.0 parts seem to be a lot more expensive than 1600 etc. if you have a nice runner then just leave it alone and spend more on the other stuff with more in the pot for when it breaks.
  They do make the capacity bigger on the 2.0 but not sure how big. Not by a lot I doubt and I personally cannot see the point. A good 2.0 will cruise along nicely and It is all part of the charm. 2.0 parts seem to be a lot more expensive than 1600 etc. if you have a nice runner then just leave it alone and spend more on the other stuff with more in the pot for when it breaks.
