Hello Everyone
Got a new cd player for 'crud' my caravelle and tried to fit it yesterday without luck. There was just a stack of wires coming out from the space all randon colours and sizes and none seemed to be doing much.. As such Im going to try and re-wire the whole thing from scratch..
Now the tricky bit.... Im also going to fit a lesuire bty and would like to use the switch arrangment. This is how I planned to do it but please bear in mind Im awful with electrics!
Run a wire from bty + to the + constant and ign + on the stereo which i'll put together. Is this right? Run a new earth from the stereo to a good spot then wire and install the speakers. I'll then set-up the lesuire bty as shown on here then once all that done fit the switch again as described on here.
Is this the right way to do it? If not any help would be really greatful..
Thank-you everyone
Stereo Complete Re-fit.. Please help

Hi Andy
Best bet is to think of the bigger picture, Think of everything you want to run from your LB and also how you are going to charge it. Have a look at wiki above.
It has details on fitting a simple charger and stereo.

if it is just the stereo wiki will keep you on the right track, if there is other stuff you need to hook up give me a shout.

Hi Andy
The wire for the ignition on the stereo lets the stereo know the engine is running. This prevents you draining the main battery flat.
You can wire the ign. wire to the + feed instead of the ignition.
Down side you may flaten the battery but if it is a LB it's not realy an issue.
As VWCamperfan say's its your call, Im with camper fan and have it from the leisure battery and have by-passed the ign, by connecting the ign wire fron the stereo to the +ve feed.
