Re: New Jaguar S type - wiper blades

Not much help - more sympathy - I used to have a Jag XF and when one of the headlight bulbs needed replacing I couldn't figure out how to do it - so I made an embarrassed call to the main dealer to see if I was missing something obvious and the response was that yes it's definitely not easy - and wa...

Re: Back door not staying up

Just back to original post - with old struts the cheapest way to keep the boot up with a bike rack on - the old copper pipe trick. 2 lengths of 8 inches or so cut lengthways slipped over strut works a treat

Re: Freeloader Pico Solar charger

I have a similar one - Solio - ie small solar power gadget for mobiles etc - I actually use it as a back up in the van - leave it on the dashboard - gets charged up - then if you need to its always there. So its quite useful - but not essential

Re: how much can a khayam take?

At this weeks Latitude festial I pegged out my Khyam classic to the van in about a 40 mph wind - usual trick to get guy ropes out asap then attach to van ( wish I had parked 2 inches closer..). Because of winds on day 1 I used all my pegs and guy ropes - it seems to make a big difference to make sur...

Re: Which solar panel...?

I have a 60W solar panel on my hardtop roof wired thro charge controller to Elecsol 100aH leisure battery. Also a split charger system for when on the move. I run a Waeco compressor fridge, few LED lights and phone charging. I have had it for over a year and the panel is good enough with leisure bat...

Re: What Portable toilet have you got and how to make box cover?

I agree with Binka - my van use is mainly festivals - and the indoor loo option was one of the first purchases. I got this Dometic small unit from Camperlands. http://www.camperlands.co.uk/store/dometic-972-portable-toilet-70586-0.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; It is s...

Re: Traction Trojan Batteries

sounds good - so how many aH do you have in total ? Assume the Elecsol is 100aH - and 2 x 6V Trojans give another 200 or so ? Thats a whole load of back up power. What kind of cooler do you have - and are you using a split charger to charge as you travel ? Thanks for the update - and good luck on th...

Re: Lord Rockefeller goes to music festival

Big Chill ( excellent fest but worried it may not be on this year ) . Why's that? It seems to be taking ages for any line-up confimation or ticket info - I keep checking the web site but no news yet - leaving it very late imho to get festival punters cash in these strapped times when lots of other ...

Re: Lord Rockefeller goes to music festival

I have been thinking the same thing - price can only be rationalised by organisers if they have large extra costs eg chemical disposal tanks, stewarding etc. I know Glastonbury justifies some of it on enrionmental grounds - ie you should all arrive by coach or walk - if you bring a car/ camper you a...
