I did suspect a broken coil spring, I once drove a T4 California home from southern Germany with a broken coil spring, fine on the autobahn, bad on the M25.
Of course, no amount of banging and wiggling of the spring shows any kind of break.
Thanks for the reply.

Re: Suspension Noise...?
It is only bumpy road related, no there on a smooth road.
Could be CV joint, I replaced the off side oil seal before I went as it was leaking....

Suspension Noise...?
Just got back from France, been away for 4 weeks in the Joker traveling around Brittany with two children, bikes, water tank loaded, portaloo etc. basically everything needed for camping. Got back and unloaded everything, went for a drive up the road and there is now this strange noise, possibly com...

Re: My westfalia high top is leaking!
Hello So, high top... Where do you see the water...? Is it in the upper bed, or both the upper bed and lower bed...? Is there water in the read cupboards or on top of the shelf above the lower bed....? Or is it at the front of the van... How do you normally park the van, on a slope, front up or down...

Re: Leaking Windows
I thought the window seals in my Joker where leaking as I had puddles in the back of the van after heavy rain. Then I suspected the tail gate rubber seal, and the rivets at the top, then loads of other bits and pieces in the high top....... was none of those that caused the leak though. Basic proble...

Re: Overheating ?
Mine has been doing that since the weather got warm.... spilling out some water.
Problem with mine seems to be the lack of fan activity, does your fan actually come on....?
I know you suggest that it may be sorted out, but it would be nice to know the fan is running too.

1989 Radiator Fan Electrics
Hello Since it's been warm my van has been running a little hot and I have relaised that the fan is not coming on at all. Given the other problems I have discovered and fixed since I got the van from Germany two years ago I decided to check to see if the fan was actually there... it is, so onwards. ...

Hello Anyone know where I can find an Ebberspacher D2l manual in, um, English...? or any more info on how to make something come out of the thing...? I picked up a 1989 Joker in Germany a couple of years ago, in the back, in a box was the ebberspacher, there are curiously two thermostat control in t...

Oily Turbo......What should I do...?
Hello Managed to sort the oil in the water problem out, replaced the oil cooler and it's all good now. Found a small water leak, one of the hoses had not been refitted correctly by the previous owner and the seal had not been made properly, I could hear the leak before I could see it, sounded like a...

Something to consider, maybe, with a high top. Try and look at the condition of the roof lights (vents) if any are fitted. The Westfalia ones have a winding handle to open them. If there are any there, is there any rust around the screw cap covers... if so, there is rust inside the screw threads. Th...
