Conversion looks tidy. I'm considering getting back into T25's and would be converting to subaru power. What was involved to fit the auto engine? Have seen write ups a wee bit more involved. I see Legacy's are a popular donor but is the engine in the foresters similar?

Hightop roof sealant
Alright the sealant around my westie's hightop looks a mess. i was thinking of tidying it up by removing most of the old sealant and renewing it. Firstly anyone done this and what sealant should i use?

Come in Riccicles
subaru conversion is probably beyond my diy skills and don't know anyone local who would do it for reasonable money
unless someone out there knows different?

tuning a wasserboxer
i currently have a plan to build a hot type 4 Aircooled engine. the parts and info for such a build are vast. as plans can be changed however  are there parts to modify the watercooled 1.9 and 2.1 engines? ie different cams, cylinder heads, piston kits etc. anyone jazzed up their wasserboxer? ...

Re: A/C into watercooled?
Cheers billy, however i think you have misunderstood my post
i was asking about fitting an Aircooled engine into a later watercooled van, not a watercooled into an early van(why i here you ask).
was asking what i would have to change on the watercooled van to fit an Aircooled engine?

Re: A/C into watercooled?
have a plan in my mind to build a hot type 4 engine and whack it into a panel van or my camper(Aircooled). not many good early panel vans left so maybe be easier to find good later watercooled van. i'm aware my question bucks the trend of the usual 'what can i replace my Aircooled engine with?' chee...

A/C into watercooled?
probably obvious but i'll ask. apart from removing waterpipes etc. from a watercooled bus what else(if anything) needs to be consider if fitting an Aircooled engine where once hung a water cooled lump?

Re: Alternatice for 2.0a/c
Alright scott. didn't know you had an early panel. and you may sell hmm..could be in the market
only difficultly in converting a/c vans to watercooled set up is they have no cooling system adding many man hours or cash money to the whole project

Re: lhd to rhd
why go to the hassle mate? i reckon it would be easier selling the lefty and just buying a right hand drive. i have a left hand drive but it doesn't bother me coz it's not used as a daily driver. to answer your question it can be done but it's an involved job for ur diy mechanic
