Re: Recommend a mechanic or garage in Southampton or Hampshire
I use Rob Gaze in Cowes on the Isle of Wight - which would cost to get the van across but very little mileage to get to Rob's place. Does it splutter to a halt or just suddenly die? Mine was doing something similar a few years back and after replacing the ignition amplifier everything was good.........

Re: Leatherette Seat Covers
Hi I have 'leatherette' covers in my T25. It is nowhere like the Vinyl in my dads old Allegro - ie I don't get sweaty or burn myself on it when its been in the sun. It seems comfy enough - after a few hours drive to Dorset recently. Going over to France in the summer so longer trips..... My missus p...

Re: Newbie to the T25 world
Hi and welcome! Don't write off the fridge. When we first bought our camper the fridge did not work (two way 12V and gas Electrolux). As recommended on here, I removed the fridge, cleaned up the ignition system (full of dust/ grime) and placed it upside down fro 48 hours or so. Hey presto it has now...

Re: Opinions Requested: Difference between K14 & K24 with JX
I would think the difference between the K14 and K24 turbo is quite different - I used to work for a company manufacturing the turbine wheels for BorgWarner and the size difference between a K14 and K24 turbine wheel is quite substantial (in weight and diameter) Dependent upon the geometry, the K14 ...

Re: Three kids in the back
Our 1981 Autohomes camper has two seats on the rear bench (with lap belts) plus a rear facing buddy seat with three point belt.
So you should be able to find something similar - although I 'think' the rear facing buddy seat was an optional extra.....

Re: Webers on a 1.9 petrol engine
I replaced my twin Solex carbs with new Weber ICT34s and agree with the OP. But I was obviously comparing 30year old carbs with brand new carbs. Had them fitted for two years now and not a single issue. Performance and reliability are reassuringly great. Not a clue about mpg as I am really not that ...

Re: Holdsworth Roof Clean
I cleaned my fibre glass hightop this weekend. It seemed much easier than normal, which I linked to a good layer of frost over the top. The dirt 'seemed' stuck to the frost and so hot bucket of water with Autoglym car shampoo and it came off easier than any other time. (Mine was especially dirty as ...

Re: Ignition amp failure
Hi
When mine failed (2.0 CU), I would just be driving along and it would suddenly die, randomly to begin with. After five minutes it would restart.
Eventually I could only travel a mile and it would cut out and then take longer before restart.

Re: Fridge help!
You 'probably' have an Electrolux RM122 or RM123 - it should tell you inside the fridge on a label.
These are now built 'new; by Dometic and they do most spare parts for the Fridges.

Wiring down nearside A pillar
Hi I am wanting to install some small speakers in the rear of my camper - so the kids can hear rather than cranking the volume up at the front! The best route from the dash seems to be up the A pillar and into the high top (speakers are to be installed up high at the rear. (we have an Autohomes high...

Re: RM122 fridge question
If you want/ need to precool the fridge, use a load of ice packs, frozen peas, and pre chilled bottled water. from the house before you start to travel rather than using gas.

Re: rm122 fridge problem
You need to run the fridge for at least a couple of hours on gas for it to get 'cold'. You should also notice it getting cold (at least the ice tray) once you have driven for an hour or so - although this is not as effective as gas! The heat you feel is normal, just make sure you have connected the ...

Re: Help please. Rm122 fridge how long before
About 8 hours or overnight with mine. Can help it along with freezers packs or a bottle of frozen water to help kick start. I find liquids seem to modulate the temperature better when back on 12V.

Re: Service advice
I do about one 30mile trip every other weekend and a couple of longer trips twice a year. So not lots of short journeys. In winter, generally when damp, it can stutter a little when cold, but I don't have chokes on my crabs and put it down to that, but could be electrical? However at the moment all ...
