Re: Air in fuel
I had this problem for 3 years in my 1.7 KY diesel. I put a one way valve and a hand pump primer so i could re-pump diesel to the pump. I have removed it now as all along it was simply the little rubber tubes that goes from one diesel injector to the next 4 or 5 of them all together. The last inject...

Re: electric heater pump
My Diesel heater used to be very cold and not very effective. But i put in some radiator flush and drove it for a few days. Drained it and flushed it through with a hose pipe. Followed all the advice for parking it nose first up a steep hill and bled the air out of the top of the radiator. It gets l...

Re: High Top in the wind
I don't think poly bushes can stop wind buffeting !! ..as Pionte implies, we're usually changing new poly for old worn rubber. Let's keep this real & reasonable shall we before they become a magic potion for every ill  I agree may not be right for everyone. I may have got the same result...

Re: High Top in the wind
Fitting polybushes where possible or replacing with brand new rubber where not to the entire front end helped a lot. Steering rack bushes, antiroll bar etc. The difference that and 70mm springs made was just astounding. A lot more definite it its driving manner! polybushes on the steering rack. Bes...

Re: dashboard lights
Mine never worked but i found that the pcb on the connector strip join was burned out. I soldered a piece of wire onto the last bit of copper showing and then soldered the lead onto the correct feed wire on the connector block.

Re: Rear fog lights Relay?
Fixed it today. took a lot of tracking down. On the diagram molded on the fuse box cover the fuse for the fog light is 6th from the left....... This being the ones all along the bottom. No it isn,t! It was actually at the top of the fuse board on the left. The ones that can be clipped on and off. Th...

Re: Diesel injector leak off pipes
I have had several of my pipes fail recently but took me a while to trace the fault. I would be driving along ( ok its a ky 1700 so I can,t say peacefully ) and it I would lose power. The symptoms were quite alarming as if the engine was trying to seize up... I eventually discovered that the blankin...

Re: Wont start
When you say nothing till you turn the key and then constant clicking! are your battery (red LED) and glow plug (yellow light) coming on? If they are and its only clicking when you are engaging the starter motor (key held over) it is either your starter motor is toast or the connections on the start...

Re: Rare diesel
Mine easily keeps up with normal traffic and I've never felt that I have held up anyone in their Lemming like race to the edge of the cliff. Diesel Magic fuel system cleaner works wonders, I use it on all of my diesels. When tackling hills I keep the revs up into the best torque band (when the exha...

Re: Rare diesel
Hi and Welcome Lucy, There are quite a few of us on here with the good old 1700. I would not worry yourself! Its a great little engine and one of the best for economy. The 1.6 TDhas a little (and I mean little ) more grunt on acceleration and pulling up a hill but its hardly noticeable. My little ol...

Re: t25 1.7 diesel van conversion
Could need new cable required. It may just be full of water and a bit rusty causing it to stick and catch. May free up with a bit of use! Could be iced up in this cold weather. Clutch is quite straight forward to do. But be carefull with driveshaft bolts and clutch housing bolts as they are allen ke...
