t25 1.7 diesel van conversion

Post by fazzer »

after finally driving my van after being off road for a total of 3 years,it was not a good experience as well as being slow which i knew anyway,i had to push hard on the accelerator for it to operate and wasnt a smooth operation, would cable need replacing or is it problem with pedal mechanism.there is a new pedal fitted.also is it difficult to replace clutch in a 1.7 diesel.

Could need new cable required. It may just be full of water and a bit rusty causing it to stick and catch. May free up with a bit of use! Could be iced up in this cold weather. Clutch is quite straight forward to do. But be carefull with driveshaft bolts and clutch housing bolts as they are allen key bolts and love to round off. I got mine loose by hitting them loose with a punch (undoing them slightly to get them turning) killed one bolt with impact driver so was not keen on using that. Lots and lots of great guides and hints in the forum. Aint gonna kid you with the 1700 Diesel though mine is slow big time.
