good 2.1 is a nice motor in a syncro, mine was 2.1 16" when i had it, fuel consumption is the stinger, most petrol users seem to favour gas but if you plan on campering the van it`ll eat in to your storage space, ok if its just you and the other 1/2 but family camping you just run out of space....

With under steer you see what you're going to hit. At least with over steer you're still looking where you're ment to be going and still living in hope.

Sender units on the other side of the tank rust out too. Don't use it till its fixed. Google burnt out vanagon.

If it's fine until you start to move away then it's most likely a speed sensor related fault. Sensor / reluctor or / wiring.

its not unusual dave, happens on the modern stuff far too often. have to build the shaft backwards then. inner joint off and outer boot on from the inner end.

air chisel and lots of patience and wd40.

baxter does the specific stainless bolt kit for them.

if youre doing inner and outer boots on both shafts diff out is probably quicker job if its only one side or only outer boot then in place quicker. depends on whether shaft splits easy from shaft.

Syncro Andy is doing a very nice passat dash conversion at the minute. May be worth a look for you.
