I have mixed my own colur of Rustoleum. A match for the existing white. I did it this way.
I mixed small quantities by proportion using a small (printer ink refill) syringe until I got the right match, or one that I was happy with. As I am 'rollering' my van in stages I only mix a couple of jam jars of colour at a time.
The proportions I am using are 4 parts white, 2 parts beige and 3 parts grey.
I worked out, using water, where these proprtions would come on a jam jar and marked the jar.
Using a larger syringe (e bay) add the paint colours to the jar. Stir well. In between colours fill syringe approx. halfway with turps, agitate, empty and repeat. The amount of turps is not important as long as it's the same amount everytime. Keep this turps mixture as it is in the same proportion as your paint mix and will do for thinning. I have 'mixed up' several times and I cannot tell the difference between batches.
The mixed colour lasts quite a long time in the jar, I usually add a little of the turps mix, enough to cover the surface, before closing with a polythene food bag under the lid.
When painting, hot and cold weather, I thin some of the colour mix with about 10% of the turps mix and roller away. I finish off just before the paint is becoming unworkable with just about the weight of the roller on the job.
Wait 48hours, light rub with 400g wet/dry, apply another coat. Repeat 48hrs later. Job done.
I have lightly rubbed down some bits with T cut, or similiar and I am satisfied with the finish. Nobody has criticised the result so far.
Hope this helps.
