Dale, I can't see why you'd need to switch over. Have one for starting only and the other for internal use. If worst comes to worst just swap them over but heres what you need:

Re: Second Battery Fitting
Most good motor accessury shops sell 4/6/8 way add-on fuse boxes. Think they start at around £7. Simply connect one side of the fuse box (linking one terminal to the next) to positive wire from leisure. Then other side of f/box to each appliance respectively. Your appliances can still use the chassis as earth to make the circuit. You can also get cigar socket extensions, even in £1/$1 shops nowadays. Just a case of hacking these up to suit your needs if you want plugs in the back.
Oh, and don't forget to run your stereo from the leisure too. Doing that put an end to a spate of flat battery problems I was having.

Re: Second Battery Fitting
Well it might but as discussed a few times on here, wiring to that side needs to be capable of handling high current and that being used for the fridge may fall well short of that. Photos would be useful. I fitted 100amp cable and 80 amp relays - chunky stuff.

Re: Second Battery Fitting
Can I suggest you carry a set of jump leads in the van, that way you can use either battery to jump start, should the need arise.
Just a thought.
Jim.

On an overnight stop I'm a belt and braces guy. Starter battery, another car batt as a leisure and another in the back, fully charged just in case!

Re: Second Battery Fitting
This battery fits like a glove in the box under the driveers seat of our diesel camper, it was £59.99 next day courieur delivery and the seller was extremely helpful;

At 90AH its also bigger than any of the ones in the Wiki and it has a four year warranty.

Re: Second Battery Fitting
Can anyone tell me - is there realy adifference between an ordinary van battery and a "leisure battery"?
I thought a lead acid battery was just a lead acid battery?
