1.6 and 2.0 A/C BHP on wiki

Post by dugcati »

was nosing around on wikipedia and noticed this on the vwt25 engines section....
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VW_T25#Engines

* Air-cooled (1979-1982)
o 1.6 L (1584cc) (60bhp) (Serial # CT) air-cooled, single Solex 34 PICT-4 carburettor, available on non-USA models
o 2.0 L (1970cc) (67bhp) (Serial # CU or CV) air-cooled, twin Solex 34 PDSIT-2/3 carburettor or fuel injected (Bosch L-Jetronic, USA models) flat-4 in the 1980 to 1983 1/2 models

ugh? :run 7bhp difference between the 1600 and the 2.0L.. Surely thats wrong?!

1600s are all around 50bhp - same as they were on beetles although trying to push a thing the size of a bus, its probably more like 20bhp :rofl

As an aside, I knew a bloke who had a bay and was desperate for an engine and fitted a 1200!!! To say it took a while to build up speed is putting it mildly.
