can anybody help please?

Post by tranny »

Hi I have not long bought a camper and I don't have a clue how to use the electric for the oven fridge etc. There is a cupboard with all the switches etc in the back of the van but I am not at all sure what to do.
Guy I bought van from said he didnt have a clue either and only used gas for all but there are spot lights I would like to useand the electric hook up when I take the kids away, there is no user guide with it and wondered if anyone would know how I can get hold of one for my particular van, who I need to contact, if anyone does know could you please let me know
I have the repair manual but not the handbook re the fridge cooker etc.
Cheers
Joy :D

Hi . . . also need to know what sort of camper it is . . . is it a diy conversion or was it done professionally by a company like Autosleeper, Autohomes, Leisuredrive, Holdsworth, Westfalia, Reimo? If you're not sure, post some photos of it on here (interior and exterior).

Make and model of the fridge would also be good to know because there are some instruction manuals available to download from the 80-90 website.

Have you located the leisure battery yet and if so is it in working order and fully charged?

Is there definitely an oven, or just a hob and grill?

Tony

Hi jpee, nicola and Tony, firstly can I say thanx so much for your replies, I am so new to this and never done anything like this before.
I am not sure what make it is although my friend says she is sure its a westfalia, it is white and has a blue lightening bolt design across the side and back and the logo Galaxy 11 as well. On the back at the bottom it says VW Camper Company London. It has the silver letters saying vw transporter and the vw sign on the front too. It doesn't have an oven just a grill and hob, and fridge of course, wishful thinking on my part I guess lol, it has a button by the sink which I am told is for the electric water pump and a cupboard beside the back seat/bed that houses all the electric buttons and switches.
I don't know how to put pics on here so if you could tell me how to do it then I will. Feel so useless lol
She is in the garage at the moment as when I bought her last week I was driving home and she broke down, AA told me head gasket blown so she is being sorted out now and I will have her back in two weeks.
kind regards...

as you've not read the wiki (top of the page) about posting pics... and it's pics we need here, as they will say a thousand words.

here's a quick guide

take pics with a digital camera
load them on to the computer.
go to www.photobucket.com
register with them ..(it's free)
upload the pictures to them using their browser.
click the [img] code that they give you for the pics
paste that into the reply box here

go do it :D

Hiya kevtherev, I did go to the top of the page and read all the info however, I couldn't have looked properly as I didn't see any info about loading pics onto this site, I only have two pics of the camper at the moment and they are on my pc saved in my pictures, I have tried to get them to go onto the site but must be doing it wrong. I don't have a digital camera and even if I did it would be pointless at the moment as the van is in a garage in Crewe and I am in Wales, I wont get her back until Friday week but thanks so much for your reply and information.
Take it easy

Don't worry about doin itwrong Joy, now u have the hang of it...it will be a doddle, asking questions about yer van with a piccie attached makes it so much easier for these guys to answer your questions....they are very knowledgeable (sp) and will help loads...i can't answer owt techie cos im away with the fairies most of the time  but im a dab hand with a sewing machine.

Welocme to C80-90 a massive wealth of knowledge, some very nice people here although i have not met anyone yet...perhaps get urself to a show with ur kids......oh and stay away from Mr Hulley cos he is dead scary

tranny, you're off to a good start with getting the hang of posting photos on here, it'll make it a lot easier to answer your questions when we can see exactly what you're referring to.

When you post your other photos can you make them a bit bigger so we can get a better look at what you've got.

Tony :)
