240 hook up inlet socket
Didn't realise there was a surface mounted inlet available! Anyone had one? What problems? I realise they'll be easier to fit (smaller hole etc), but I would have thought they'd get damaged more easily.
Any thoughts anyone?

I would have thought not. I expect it will stick out quite a bit. (Which is why I am unsure about fitting one). Your's, I think, is a flush one.
thanks anyway.

- it should be relatively sheltered in there and it will be kept warm. What about water if its raining.....can't hurt anything can it?
Naturally a socket with a flip lid would be better and, of course, have a look inside the socket before ramming the plug in. WD40 will help with water ingress.
