240 hook up inlet socket

Post by meggles »

Didn't realise there was a surface mounted inlet available! Anyone had one? What problems? I realise they'll be easier to fit (smaller hole etc), but I would have thought they'd get damaged more easily.
Any thoughts anyone?

I would have thought not. I expect it will stick out quite a bit. (Which is why I am unsure about fitting one). Your's, I think, is a flush one.
thanks anyway.

- it should be relatively sheltered in there and it will be kept warm.

Naturally a socket with a flip lid would be better and, of course, have a look inside the socket before ramming the plug in. WD40 will help with water ingress.

Titus,

thanks....mine has the flip cover.

Nicely out of the way, and no panel cutting required
