DuraBoots are those nasty universal floppy things aren't they?

I only use them on Pugs/clitrons etc when it's a shaft off, split shaft to fit the boot.

I wouldn't use them on a syncro, they are extra floppy so you can use them with a fitting cone, you put the cone over the joint, grease the cone and slide the uber floppy boot over the cone and onto the shaft.

They are to be honest a bit of a bodge and they don't last like a proper boot does.

That said, they have their uses, like lashing up cheap French crap for the MOT

Outside fronts are the really heavy duty VW boot.. for obvious reasons. Prob be alright on-road for a while.

Yeah I relized , the other boot is more tough plastic, I don't plan on heavy duty off road use, otherwise I'd certainly go for the same type

Cool,
I will hunt something down at the motor factors. I have the parts numbers I need now.

How hard is it to change them, is it a real pain?

I think CJ has some of the proper tough ones. They'll be more expencive than cheep imitations but probubly cheeper than cheep ones that keep needing doing?

A damaged boot will quickly kill the joint if unnoticed and then things will get rapidly more expencive.

Thats my take anyway, if I go to the effort of fixing something I want it to last. While original quality parts are avavable why compromise?
