gearshift kit
does anyone know where I can buy a gearshift repair kit - the bit that is under the rubber boot in the cab appears worn. I have tgaken it apart, cleaned and greased and its a little better, but the shift rod is rubbing on the carrier box (if that makes sense) and making shifting difficult..I think somethings dropped as its only started today!..on the way back from MOT station

You need to make sure all the rest of the bushes in the system are in good order too.. these usually have far more wear than the ball joint under the lever.. the ball where the linkage meets the gearbox also get worn... you can help reduce play near the box by losening themounting plate on the box and pushing the whole assy up.
A short shifter WILL NOT fix worn linkages... (I designed and manufacture the short shifters Birckwerks and a couple of other choice suppliers have.)
Also check the UJ in the centre of the linkage, several people have found this to come loose on its splines..

cheers for that. I'll check and grease these bushes tomorrow. I am now awaiting delivery of the ebay repair kit...Cheers again Jim.
Just as a bit of info I took apart my gearshift linkage below gearstick and found all the grease to be rock hard and powdery, so I took it to bits and regreased it all. Little bit better but new kit will give me peace of mind driving round Europe!!
