wondered what you guys think of this method? strength on the adaptor would be my primary concern.,

I like the idea, fitting a set of alloys without the hub showing and the possible combinations are cool..

My concern is the thickness of that adapter where the hex bar slots are.

Even the cheaper made steel adapters have full thickness around the bolts and as these aren't hubcentric (no central location point) I question the safety of using a non-centred, thin aluminium casting to support the weight and forces of a van wheel.

A genuine wheel spacer for a Porsche 911 which uses the extended stud principle can be up to 80mm thick. The difference being the spacers are hubcentric and the bolt holes are aligned to the original bolt pattern.

TBH I would rather buy a set of H&R spacers (available from Charlie at http://www.t3tuning.co.uk) which yes, are more expensive but are inherently stronger, better engineered and proven.

some pretty big concerns there. I've just been looking at the extension bolts again. THe walls are just too thin to withstand the loads involvled..

This job is worth doing right, and Im sure now they are not the right tool for it. Cheers

Whole speill(?) sounds like something off the shopping channel. Over complicated design for a situation that already has a solution (spacers & longer studs/bolts). How do you get the correct torque and/or just line the hex ends up (fidly).

i had one of those kits fitted to a mini i owned
front offside wheel sheared off trying to give it some poke up the main road,
wheel traveled 500yards further than the car did lucky it didnt hit any thing
