fitting lap belts

Post by garry247 »

I am fitting a 3 point seatbelt and a lap belt this weekend.

I have ordered the seatbelt repair plates from Brickwerks. one for the rear pillar (Ex panel van) and two for behind the seat. (i will be getting them spot welded in)

I have also ordered the reel version of the lap belt. My question is that i have two holes in the center just up from the bottom under my 3/4 rnr seat. Not at the top like in the WIKI

(https://club8090.co.uk/wiki/In ... oint_belts" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)

I was going to use one for my 3 point belt and the other for the lap belt. my question is where do i fit the lap belt reel?

Once this is fitted i will put up here with instructions for others.

cheers.

There are two seatbelt anchor points in the firewall behind the seat, so there will be another pair toward the end of the bench, nearest your cupboard unit. Each has 2 tapped bosses to accept 7/16" UNF seatbelt bolts. They are NOT metric

We have a pile of seatbelt mountings here for the rear seatbelts, direct copies of the originals so they will rivet in place exactly where VW intended.
I just need some time to do some instructions.
