1.9 1Y to a AAZ

Post by bigskank »

Hi ive got a 1.9 1y in my camper over year ive had it i have done a full engine rebuild as i found the bores were worn. So i need to know if i can find and fit a aaz turbo on my 1y as i am going to tow my car for racing next yr. looking for a bit more bhp and i've only got a 4 speed box i think i need to fit a 5 speed. On the motorway it only does 60 mph with the engine reving high.

I think that you will find that the 5th gear on a five speed gearbox equals 4th gear on a four speed box. The extra gear offers greater options at lower speeds. Somebody technical should be able to confirm/contradict this.
