Futbus Daves' recent experiences with an AAZ make me wonder what actually passes for reliable, petrol or diesel...

My Multivan is fitted with a Flux Capacitor but even it acts up funny in a thunder storm ......

A big plus for petrol is that when you run out, you pour more in and it starts again.

Unlike a diesel :run

a good plus for diesel is that's unlikely to turn your van into a inferno :cheese

 You know it's true! Bleeding air from fuel lines and filters, guffing around...

I only said it 'cos I did indeed run it dry the other evening  forgot that the end of the red bit does truly mean "there's no more juice, man. Go direct to Morrisons". But brimming the tank still only reads 3/4 full :?
I think something's fallen off inside the tank as the last time I ran it down to zero - to drop the tank - there was still 3 gallons left in it. Came as a bit of a surprise when I pulled the hose off

Probably why I keep my distance from oil-burners these days...

Anyway, we've gone to all this trouble posting up an entertaining thread for Neil and he can't even be ar$ed to join in! Ungrateful bu66er!

When my 1.6D ran out of fuel I just put more in and it started no problems.

Did Dave change the pulley and the bolt before he fitted it? I was advised to do this as apparently there was a problem, but changing for the newer design alleviates this.
