Idle valve controller for DJ - repairs

The one that lives behind your RH rear lamp and is so often forgotten!

I am making enquiries about getting these repaired as I have two dead ones and no spares seem to be forthcoming.

There must be lads of duffers out there being hoarded, they all need to get back in circulation.

I have received a promising response, so I'll box up a DJ engine harness, a couple of idle valves and the two duff controllers and see what they make of it all.

I'm still keeping my eye out. I'm certain I wouldn't have binned it and both my 2.1s were running fine when removed.
I found lots of bits of harness in a box the other day so I'm getting warmer I think.

I have been slowly ( over years ) acquiring DijiJet parts to eventually switch over from carb to injection.

Part of my hesitation is that I am in no position to know if any of the parts are in working order - AFM, Idle control, ECU, and even the harness.

If this company can offer a test/repair/refurb service of those components, I might just get motivated for the project and get the last parts.

Looks like the beige cap on the right has crapped itself and a few components have been running hot to start with...

Yes thats the early suffix A, there's a cap on the other board that has also had a blurt. Strangely the suff C I had been using shows no signs of component distress or dry joints but it won't drive the idle valve either.
Might be that the transistors have failed.
Suff A and C have quite different board layouts and component count, but do the same job (as do suff B and D for the MV with Digifant)

i was chatting with copilot about this, and a full re-engineer with just a modern microcontroller and as few simple components could replace all the analog components. it seemed to have a fair idea of what was needed, what inputs are provided and the PWM drive for the ISCV.
