Carburettor Idle cut off Solenoid

Post by JonathanR »

Apologies for multiple posts.

I do not appear to have any electrical power to the cut off solenoid or the throttle body heater. Ignition is just in position one. Will it only have power when I turn over the engine. If not where might the fault lie. Can’t make head nor tail of wiring diagram in Haynes!

In addition I have black wires with yellow ends connecting to the solenoid. How it’s always been. But have 2 redundant thicker red wires next to them. They too don’t register any voltage with ignition on.

Any thoughts will be much appreciated.
Can’t pull up picture will post this and try again.

The black wires should be powered with the ignition on, they should connect to terminal 15 on the ignition coil. The red wires look like for the manifold and auto choke.

The thick red wire should be for the hedgehog heater on the underneath of the manifold and the other cable off that goes to the carb body heater.
