Hi guys, the oil pressure switch on my jx td has failed it's a brown switch which seems to be incorrect for that engine as the only ones on the Brickwerks site doesn't include a brown one, seems i need a normally closed one but which colour/pressure?
Any ideas please

The switch on the end of the head is supposed to be a 0.3 bar (blue) switch. The switch on the filter housing is supposed to be a 1.4 bar (black) switch for NA Diesels, and a 0.9 bar (grey) switch for Turbo Diesels.
I don't know whether they can be fitted the other way around provided the wiring is also reversed, but the engine manual has them fitted as above - see picture.

Thanks guys, I didn't know there was so much to it, I have a recon engine so that doesn't help and only one switch is connected the filter one so think I'll go with blue, thanks again.

Re: Oil pressure switch jx diesel
You still need to check that you've got the correct wiring connected to your pressure switch - the wiring diagram for diesel engines is in the forum wiki here.
The 0.3 bar (blue) switch is a 'normally-closed' switch, so opens when the pressure has risen above 0.3 bar - the wire to this switch should be blue & white(?), according to the wiring diagram linked above.
The 0.9 bar (grey) switch on the other hand is a 'normally-open' switch, which closes above the stated pressure - the wire here should be yellow.

The wiring to the filter side switch is blue and black the head switch is grey but has no wiring connected probably been deleted at some time, I've checked with multi meter its normally closed i need.
