Radiator pipes confusion

Hi knowledgeable folk!

I replaced my front to rear coolant pipes on the weekend to stainless ones, but very stupidly didn’t take note of the correct feed/return at the radiator end. Could anyone confirm for me the correct layout. I’ve looked at many diagrams but that’s just adding to my confusion As they seem to conflict each other



My van is a 1984 running 32mm pipes and Gti engine

Most probably your conversion use the diesel setup:

Water comes from the engine on the side flange with straight hose and goes back from the bottom with the J shapet hose
