1.6td JX temp sensor/glow plug sensor/ water pump sensor

Post by PhatEd132 »

Looking for some clarification on the location of the above? Not sure my plugs are where they should be.
When I turn the key my glow plug light does not go out? The red temp Led flashes Initially for about 5sec then goes out (which is what it's supposed to do I think?)

New glow plugs, bus bar and relay fitted, Cleaned up all the terminals and earths and she starts on the button. But the glow plug light only goes out when she starts.

My glow plug wires (blue/white) are going to the lower hose going back toward the cab
Pump run on wires (yellow/red) are going to the top hose (sensor facing side of van)
And water temp wires (brown/red) are going to the same top hose. (Sensor facing cab)

Have read something that suggests my glow plug wires and water temp sensors are the wrong way around?? Would this be the problem??

Next job will be to get new sensors and plugs but before I do I want to be sure the wiring is correct.

Hope that makes sense, Any help would be much appreciated.

The diesel engine wiring diagrams are in the Wiki:

I've sent you a PM with a couple of links to download the JX service manuals.

Hopefully this will help you sort it out.

That's the way I've got my sensors connected, have you got a test meter? If so unplug the blue/white ( and brown ) connector and with the meter on ohms check the sensor ( should be 1000 ohms cold ish )
I dont think, so I'm not[do I exist?]
