Clutch master cylinder replacement.

Post by davegsm82 »

Is it possible to replace the clutch master cylinder without removing the whole pedal box?

If so, how?

Thanks.

Yep.
Pull off line that feeds it from the reservoir
Remove hard line that exits it, either hard plastic one or solid metal one..
Two 13mm bolts
Job done !

Brilliant.

I'm guessing there's nothing clamped on the piston as such, just something pressing down on it which doesn't need to be disconnected?

Thanks, Dave.

There is a push rod that is attached to the clutch pedal that has to fit through the rubber boot of the cylinder, there is a diagram of it in the Haynes manual.

As above its pretty easy, make sure that the push rod is seated properly and be careful not to cross thread the lower fluid pipe union nut.
