Where is the windscreen washer bottle?

Post by Sleedale »

Nope, not the filler bit inside, but the actual bottle/tank?
Tried to fill up today and it's simply pouring out of the bottom and have no washers
Before I start undoing things it would be a great help if I knew what to undo and where.

Thank you peeps

It's directly attached to the filler pipe. To get at it you need to get under the van and remove the front wheel and it's just above.

The spare wheel underneath. The bottle is just above it.

Mine is directly under the filler not anywhere near the spare wheel. Held to the van by a 2 or 3 bolts. I don't need to remove any wheels to get at it.

Ralf, thank you for all your help, if it's above the spare wheel what is the tank just above and inside the near side wheel? That's under the filler cap? And does the washer bottle have an overflow?
I have no washers, no sound coming from the washer motor, but did have an outoelectrician fit a cut off switch for the radio as we thought it was draining the battery, might he have dislodged a connection? It's weird that there isn't even a grunt, groan or growl coming from the motor?

That is the washer bottle! Favourite for no washers is the switch getting gummed up. Is the horn still working?

Horn worked yesterday, must admit none too loud but it worked, and washers not working yesterday.
How do I get at the switch? Sorry to be a pain.....

Horn is just an aside as he may have been messing with the steering column wiring.
The switch is on the steering column at the end of the arm. I think that your model year may well have the blower and wash/wipe on the same fuse, check to see if you still have the heater blower working first, if not check the fuse.

The motor is earthed on the chassis next to the bottle - check to see that the wire (brown)is still attached there. Check the blower and fuse.

Still have heater blower working, which is nice but means it's not the fuse

Think we will go with a handy spray bottle next to the drivers seat!

Just reading back - cut-off switch for the radio. Do the then washers work if the switch is operated? (Who knows what was done! )

Can't see any wire attached to the chassis, but nothing dangling either.....spray bottle looking best option.....
