Top panel replacement below windscreen
Hi, need to replace or repair the top panel below windscreen, has been leaking for a while and recent crack in windscreen hastened replacement. Windscreen guy arrived and removed windscreen, which showed rust on lower part along with 1 inch rust hole. Tempted to repair rust hole but has encroached on area where rubber seal slots over, may have to replace panel before calling back Windscreen guy to put new glass in. Have looked on forums but cannot find how panel is removed and sealed before I get the glass reinstalled. Gratefull for any tips or links. Rgds TOny.

Re: Top panel replacement below windscreen
Tks to all for above information, will give me something to work on, hoping to get away with repairing the damage, very similar to those pictures in replies instead of replacing panel as not sure how this is done. Rgds

Re: Top panel replacement below windscreen
this is about as simple as they get
http://archive.club8090.co.uk/viewtopic ... 8&t=131607" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
they then degenerate to a large void
pickies of yours and we can advise best course of action, plenty more like that so no shortage of tutorials

Re: Top panel replacement below windscreen
Hi guys,
I could do with a little advice. My bus has been off the road having a back to metal spray and has been garaged for 6 months ( well overdue to get back on the road) Anyhow, I took the wiper spindles and motor away from the top panel and removed the old rubber grommets. A long time has passed and I am in the process of re assembly, I purchased some new grommets to replace the old ones and I just cannot remember if I slid the old grommets over the spindles to remind me how to put back on or if there are two sets of grommets one on the inside then a thin flat washer with the same externally. Can anyone please detail the make up of re assembly, i.e thin washer over spindle, grommet in 20mm hole, thin washer, square plastic cover, locking nut, plastic dome cover, wiper arm, nut & finally cover / cap.
I have searched the wiki but can't find what I need. Hope someone can help. Many thanks. Fish

Re: Top panel replacement below windscreen
nah nah nah, start your own thread and lets have loads of pickies or your banned, ooops sorry wrong forum
they are a single grommet for want of a better word, you need spindles out to fit them then re secure the wheel boxes semi tight and then fit thin washer and nut etc, i like to assemble the wheel boxes and motor etc all loosely then nip up to suit,

PHEW!!! Thought I was binned then !!!!
I get ya mm, thanks for that. Can you just explain what you mean by wheel boxes ? Would that be the gubbins and rods that "drive" the spindles ?
I have got some pics and I will start a post once complete.
Cheers

Yep.the splined bits your wiper arms fit to are the wheelboxes,so fit grommets and follow as above and take care to run your washer tube correctly or it can get mashed in the mechanism
