I remember using a program like that at work called Deep Freeze. Was fed up with students putting interesting screen savers on! Recently had one rapscallion who thought it was funny to rotate the displays 90 degrees in the settings.

I kept finding PCs where the desktop background was always being changed - last thing you need in a corporate environment. Eventually I pinpointed the culprit and gave him such a lecture he just blushed. If he wants to change them on his own PC at home thats fine, but mess with work ones and he'll wind up with Windows stamped on his forehead. Petit it might be but it just wastes time when my workload is already maxed out.

Mind you, I love the antivirus they use at work. Its like pouring in neat bleach - it tolerates nothing. Plug in a USB stick with anything remotely dodgy on it and it will delete it without even asking. Fierce but fair.
