computer help. PLEASE
For some reason the page on my monitor has 'skipped' to the right so I am not able to see the extreme right of the page. To the right of the the top bar was a red cross which is not now showing on the monitor, neither is the icon thing to minimise and maximise the screen. Any ideas how to rectify this please. Sorry to be a nuisance. Thanks.

Hi Meggles.
You probably have a monitor with adjustment menu on it? ( contrast, etc etc. )
Some monitors are just on or off with resolution controlled from the computer, others have extra adjustment on the actual screen too.
Try scrolling through menu on the actual monitor if it has a menu.
You may see an option to move screen display back to the left a bit.
If not, does your resolution look different than usual? ( Size wise, I mean )

Has you monitor got any buttons on the surround, or behind a pull down panel. If there's an "auto" button press that, or failing that try the "menu" button an look for the option to set the dimensions.

Just noticed I cannot get to the bottom of the screen either. I have pressed the MENU button on the monitor and nothing happens. Confusingly, if I click on IE it brings up a full screen, however, if I click on google chrome icon I get the problem. It just happened suddenly whilst I was using the computer so I assume I must have clicked on something.

Have you lost the toolbar and tabs etc at the top too?

Sure you aren't in `full screen` mode on Chrome?
Try pushing F11.
If that doesn't work, take a screenshot by pressing CTRL + Print screen.
Save it and post it here.
Can't be anything too much if IE is OK.
Not sure what that last bit you posted means though??

DONE IT!! I've only gone and fixed it.
Right clicked on the blue band at the top of the screen. Held button down and repositioned page. Then I clicked on 'restore'. Well, I think that's what I did anyway. Still don't know how it went crazy but it must have been something I did. Thanks for all the suggestions guys!

Re: computer help. PLEASE
Now and again I find a user in the organisation I work for has altered the screen so the damned thing is upside down or they shove the taskbar up the top blah blah. I like continuity so that no matter which terminal they use (around 350+ PCs), its the same for all. I became really fed up with this as most of the service requests I got were down to user intervention. Recently I came across a great thing called Reboot Restore which although useless for home use is brilliant in a work environment as everything reverts back to what is was after rebooting. Even if they left a document on the desktop, reboot and its gone
- the only thing that is protected is their documents folder so it forces all of them to be tidy. Sorted.

Y'see mate, that's what confuses me! If someone said "Just hit that black button thing that's got a picture that looks like a wavy line" etc then I'd be ok.CovKid wrote:Now and again I find a user in the organisation I work for has altered the screen so the damned thing is upside down or they shove the taskbar up the top blah blah.
