Heater blower switch

Post by ssnax »

Well after several months of ownership and looking at various pictures of other peoples non rusty t25's i stumbled across a picture of of a heater panel ...and discovered that little hole next to the levers should have a knob in it to adjust the blower speed..
Knob ordered and delivered...job done ..sort of
I know in the near future im going to have remove the dash more than likely to fix or replace the blower motor!....so i checked i could remove the heater panel and levers ok ...yep no problem but i also noticed there's nothing actually plugged into the back of the actual blower switch ....sigh.

So my question ...there seems to be 4 spade end connections ,what plugs into them, are they individual wires,is it a multi plug, what colours go where....can anyone help with a bit of advice of what i should be looking for in the forest of wires?

Thanks

Did my 1985 one recently & the wires connected to a plug the same shape & colour as the switch. It was a tight fit but gentle levering removed it ok.

Of course the chances are it has been "hot wired" likely due to the switch being damaged by excess current pulled through it by a failing blower motor. If that is the case (and only guessing here of course) you will likely need a new switch, a new resistor pack and a new motor, non of which is expensive, but a faff to strip the dash down to fit the motor and resistor pack.

Just being a bit lazy really its all been about rust and paint so far so haven't bought a haynes for it yet.

Adam (dbz summat) is selling Haynes manuals for £5 each in the for sale section.
