GSF exhaust quality
Hey guys,
Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with GSF exhausts quality wise? I was going to order the twin Empi until I read about them rotting through within a few months, so I have ordered the budget sport exhaust from GSF for 82.75, as I cant afford the cost of a stainless system at the moment. Hoping its going to be a bit better quality!
Cheers

I never buy any thing from gsf anymore!! parts don't fit and are of poor quality and when you do get them to fit they don't last long. Better off saving up.
Re: GSF exhaust quality
In all fairness I've had loads of parts off them and haven't had a problem with anything so far but it's mainly seals, service bits, bushes etc that I've had, but never anything like exhausts. They have ordered me one in so I can go have a look tomorrow and check out the quality to see if its worth having. If I'm honest I don't think I will find a cheaper option than 82 quid even if it only lasts a year, and it has to better than the one that's on there at the moment. I was just wondering if anyone had any feedback on them, like with the Empi twin pipe. I cant justify spending 300+ on a stainless when I have other more important things to be spending on like getting my welding sorted!

Re: GSF exhaust quality
Lot of guff said about GSF (no offence meant). It depends what you buy. They often stock two brands of one item - just go for the better quality one. My present exhaust (up to the silencer) was from GSF and has been on there 10 years. I call that quality considering its made of steel. The silencer is a kawasaki one.
Empi is bean can quality though. Take a look at: https://club8090.co.uk/wiki/Exhausts_Custom" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Re: GSF exhaust quality
All that says is that 12 years ago you could still buy decent quality...

Re: GSF exhaust quality
Except that personally I've only had to return one part in all that time and it was a reversing light switch. Said this several times but if an owner has no concept of whats good/bad then go to someone who does know. The more experienced just know whats good and what isn't.
Now, when it comes to exhausts, theres often not that much difference between an allegedly 'good' steel one and stainless these days. At the end of the day if I'd got young kids (I have one), and I have to find next terms school uniform (which I do), a full stainless is right off the radar. My lad comes before everything. Yep stainless would last longer (and in an ideal world etc) but sometimes thats not a factor. The GSF one won't fall off but it has a limited life, as do we all.
Pipes usually last years, boxes often don't.

Re: GSF exhaust quality
Ordering stuff on a daily basis and most of it does what it says on the tin but quality varies. Veetech stuff is pants , bearings sometimes last between MOTs , ......, just. Had a few issues with wheel cylinders of late too.
Only buy off Brickwerks for my own. Always give the option of BW but most go for price over quality.

Re: GSF exhaust quality
Well it sounds like it will be much better quality than the empi anyway! We use GSF on a daily basis in work but again it's usually service/MOT items, we never have any issues with them though if like covkid said earlier you go for the better quality option. Hopefully I'll have it on tomorrow and it will sort my running issues out
A full stainless would be lovely if I could justify the cost, but I've got a few bits and pieces that need sorting so I have to stretch the funds out!

Re: GSF exhaust quality
Just taken delivery of my new exhaust and fair play it looks and feels really good quality with a nice thick coating of shiny black paint! Can't wait to get it on later and see what it sounds like, and see if it sorts the rough running out!
