Hi
I'm new to the Forum having just collected my 'new' 1981 westy.
The previous owner disconnected the 240 v hook up wiring when doing some welding, which I want to replace to original. All original connects are in place and it seems straightforward. Hook up to circuit breaker, other live, neutral and earth to junction box. Just want to check with some of you with far more experience than I! After wiring and doing other work, I wondered what the other box in the photo is and how this should be connected. will be getting it checked out by a sparky mate of mine. Here's a picture of how it is now.
Thanks for your help

Not standard on a westie, but a bit of home bodging.

Thanks for your reply.
I guess that is just the little black box, does the rest look right?

Looks standard and not a bodge to me. See pics in link below from my van. This is in the hidden space you can access if you remove the panel from the bottom of the right hand side locker.
That black box looks like the resistor pack for the water level sensor see my pics in this. The spade connectors fit to the tank.

I've not had reason to play with the 240V electrics but post up more photos of what comes out of that junction box and what is at the back of the socket/trip. I'll be away for a few days so won't be able to check and compare mine until later in week.

Thanks for your reply Pete.
Been away myself so do the photos tomorrow. Everything appears to be there and original, it just needs to be reconnected... says he hopefully!
Your link to the connection to the water tank are a brilliant start for me.

Re: Westfalia 240v hookup re connection
Sorry been away for a while. Here are photos of my newly installed water tank, reconnected using the link posted to guide. I seem to be missing one black wire which I can see in the original photo in a sleeve with a green one, wonder where this has gone, any thoughts??
Circuit breaker is fitted, I now need to connect the charger, I am doing this in the plastic junction box. I also have no cable for the socket for the fridge, I am also planning to fit this from the junction box... do you feel I am on the right track?
Oh, and there are the two brown wires still to connect at the bottom of picture 3.
Good to be making progress with this.
Thanks for your help
