The blower fan, on full whack? Sounds like you're going to have to strip the dash down to remove the heater box and fan motor, and sort the bearings out. The motor's having to pull more current than it should, to overcome the mechanical resistance to spinning. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news! On the bright side, it'll be so much quieter and more effective when you've done...

Thanks for reply I wondered if the the fan/blower was knackered as its intermitant on blowing the fuse will have it stopped out soon. Thanxs :D

Often its very corroded or weak terminals at fusebox. Clean them up well and don't increase fuse value. If you're pre 85, the wipers are on same circuit and two combined will pop fuse. Seperate them (in WIKI under blower replacement). Beyond that its dash out and new motor but do check those spade connections first.

As said. old motors can draw current but fixed mine by checking circuit more carefully at connections. Thats cheapest fix.

Cheers Covkid

It's an 89, I will check when this bloody rain stops in Norfolk :ok

I also have trouble with my heater gauge and fuel gauge. I have put a new fuel tank and sender unit on the old gal but fuel gauge just does what it wants. I am not sure if to remove the hole cluster and try fitting another but my wiring skills are not great unfortunately any advise on this prb please!

Ive had same problem on my 87 crewcab.... just today I turn my blower on full wack and after 5 seconds the fuse blew, wich also nocked out my wipers!! mind you they only work on full speed!.....

Also I fitted a second hand dash binnacle today so I have an mph speedo (left hooker in kph) when connected my fuel gauge and temp gauge did not work! so I removed it again and cleaned the contacts on the printed circuit at main plug..... refitted and now both work!!! hope that helps... :ok
