Very mixed opinions and methods with insulation!

Foil type needs air space next to it so I was going to line the van with this and also line the cards etc so in theory a Double layer and vapour barrier! Where foil cannot be applied i was going to use space blanket, which is just glass wool wrapped in foil!!

I not fussed on attempting sticking celotex to the roof, the profile would have to be spot on or would show through when lined!!

Thoughts????

A foil face is indeed a vapour barrier but it needs to be continuous i.e. taped with foil tape with no gaps.
It doesn't matter what insulation you use, solid foam such as polyisocyanurate, or mineral wool etc. you should install a vapour barrier. If not warm moist air will condense when it finds a cold surface. If there's no ventilation then the moisture builds up and you get problems like mould growth, damp patches or, where there's a nice metal panel- rust from the inside out.
Don't argue with idiots. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Thanks for all the comments peeps!!

Just a thought, is it worth insulating?

Reason, been away loads in my parents camper (t5) assuming it was insulated as it was toasty, pulled some panels off yesterday and nothing, not diddly squat!!

Would love to hear your thoughts!!

I thought that, then I had the van panels insulated.
frost now forms on the outside, not on the inside.
when the night heater is on, it reaches temp very quickly and goes into quiet mode.
condensation is a thing of the past.
In the summer it keeps it cool.

Panels I can handle, I've just being trying to figure out how to ply line the high top, not easy due to the curves and angles!! So I look at other vans and see that the panels are insulated and other metal work just lined with carpet, pillars etc, so figured id do this with the roof, thing is most heat is lost through the roof!!

Time for bed I think..... :idea
