Choice of 3 alloys - Help Please

Post by dazzler441 »

Hello, after my T25 Hi-Top van has finished being resprayed next week I have been looking at 15" or 16" alloys to replace my carats. I have narrowed down to a choice of 3 that I have my eye on at the moment, but need your expertise and help on the fitting and challenges I may face :D :

Option 1 16inch Audi Ronals:

Option 2 16" Borbet A Style:

Options 3 15" Ronal Penta:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/141549498356? ... EBIDX%3AIT" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Thanks for your help

This is my westy with borbets. I have actually bought them from the same german seller as your ebay link. Came quickly and very well packed. But the secret screws were not included although were promiced in the add. But the seller sent me a new set with key after i noted it.
These were 16 inch diameter 9 inch wide rears and 7.5 inch fronts. Although I had to modify the sliding door U bracket and the rail. Otherwise the sliding door would open only 1/3 way and hit the wheel.
After running these wheels for couple years I have switched for some 18 inch ones this year.

One more thing I forgot to mention. When fitting borbets (possibly others too) you need to change the rear studs for longer ones 50mm in my case. Front bolts as well and new nuts. Got everything from brickwerks.

Yes. They are asking silly prices, but no one buys them for that. For the 16 inch set I made an offer of £350 lower than the asking price and the offer was accepted. Second time I offered the auction starting price of £500 for the 18 inch set keeping in mind that these are rare as hens teeth and not available new. Once again the offer was accepted. So don't be hasty with your purchases.

By process of elimination and a lot of help from here, the Ronal Penta's have been eliminated as well. The seller came back and informed me that the load rating is 615kg which with a hi-top and all the kit that get's carried is n't going to work. At least the Borbet copies are 861kg.
