I am thinking of ditching the perspex guards and make some out of polycarbonate as it's stronger than acrylic

I bought a set here in the US from Bus Depot. They do not require any additional brackets for installation. The guards have tabs above and below each lens thatt clips under the grill. They are held in by tension and will not come out unless you squeeze them yourself.

Look good. Any online link?

I assume thought that postage to the UK would cost more than the guards?

Sorry no link available to the covers. I remember that I had to call them up and ask for them as I could not find them in the online catalog. I do have the bill of sale and their part number is AS2117, I tried doing the search but nothing is listed. Two years since I purchased these and at the time they were $49.95. Shoot them an Email and ask if still available + the shipping?
Good luck!

Bummer! Just got off the phone with BD and the headlight covers are no longer available from them. I asked if they knew where they were manufactured and he said in the US. Maybe they are still out there, just not from them? Sorry guys!

Hi realise this is a very old post, but am just about to replace a broken LHS outer headlamp and would like to carry out this mod, so did anybody find a supply for polycarbinate instead of acylic ?

the brackets look fairly straight forward, will give it a go this weekend.
