HI
Hopefully i should be picking up my first T25 tomorrow night, in the meantime I have been alloy hunting and found a set i like on ebay. Now before i go ahead and buy them i thought i should check if they will fit.
They are
17x8.5
ET 53
235/40/17
Reading up on here it seems that the ideal offset is around high 30s so with 15mm spacers will mean they fit that side? , but will i have any issues with the sliding door etc.
The van has been lowered but i don't know how much ( i would guess 50-70mm)
Any advice much appreciated

Re: Newbie alloy fitment question
Yes, do check they are rated for the weight of your vehicle or you could find your insurance is void should the unforeseen happen. They're very hot on that kind of thing these days and you could end up picking up the bill for numerous claims and they can run into the thousands. Many insurance assessors look for what would be deemed a 'modification' and unless your alloys fully comply, they will use that as a way to void your cover, leaving you in a right mess. Not trying to frighten you - just stating what can happen. Lots ignore this one and at their peril.
I might sound like a nagging Aunt, but do bear it in mind.
CIS for instance, cancelled my insurance immediately when I stated that I had removed the middle bench seat in my Caravelle. Removal of something can also be deemed a modification. Took me ages to find an insurance company that would accept the change.

8.5" is too wide for the front of a T25 for starters....8" at the most with ET28-30 sit just inside the arch and clear the top wishbone.
ET53.....are the alloys Porsche by any chance?
If so you need 5X112PCD to 5X130PCD adaptors not spacers.
Well done for asking before buying though....it makes a refreshing change and may have just saved you some money.

Check the link below for examples of what alloys fit and what's needed to fit them.

Re: Newbie alloy fitment question
Well little more confused now after reading such things as
"18 x8.5 Front and rear
no clearance problems with 60mm lower springs
rears 255 x 40 straight on with standard bolts
fronts 225 x 40 straight on using extended bolts and no spacers"
From that forum

Yes but no mention of the all important offset(ET)??...plus the person who posted that info is a 'poke' fanatic and loves to run alloys that stick out of the arches...

As you can see in the diagram Kev has posted 8"X18" and ET32 is very very close to the upper wishbone....ET53 would need 25mm spacers just to sit in a similar position which would then push the wheel outside of the wheel arch.
These the alloys in question?

If so they won't fit a T25 without risking tyre to arch contact.
Oh and the tyres are 32mm too small for a T25 as well so would alter the gearing...
