Not by much but you will notice the adjuster arm can slide down the chamfer if you put it the wrong way, so you then know you have put it on the right way.

Right got it on the right way. Then one if then lower M10 bolts sheared! Got it out OK. But it was a bit strange 10.9 tensile and I had the torque wrench aiming for 65 NM all looks lined up correctly. Oh well, need to get a new set of bolts tomorrow

If the adjuster arm was meant to slide on it surely the chamfer should be on the outer. Anyway I have gone with chamfer towards back plate.

Yes

It's not meant to slide on it. If you put it the wrong way it would fall of onto the chamfer and not work.

M10 bolts, I have got some 12.9 tensile but they are hex socket heads or should I go with 8.8 standard bolts? Mine I think were original and 10.9.

You can use socket head bolts. The original bolts where M10 with a small hex anyway. Best to use 10.9 or above the bolts are torqued to 65nm, a lot more than the 45mn of a 8.8 bolt.

Right bought myself a nice torque wrench. Longer bolts and nylocks the other side as belt and braces.
