This is the JX mushroom

I've put the AAZ breather mushroom on now, with the extra breather inlet from the crankcase, and it seems to have done the trick. I haven't took the banjo off to check for oil yet though as I've just had to get through an Mot & theres been a lot of other more pressing jobs to sort out.

Ok I am confused now - should mine be open the whole time? Can I run it into a separate catch tank for a while? What are the benefits of swopping mine for the AAZ one?

I'm a bit lost now!

Sorry bud, the pcv valve closes when the turbo sucks and opens when there's no vacuum.
Some people add an extra breather pipe from the crankcase by modifying a blanking plate by drilling a hole and welding in a pipe, this plate is next to the brake vacuum pump.
This extra breather pipe then connects to an aaz mushroom as they have two connections instead of one that the jx has.

Hope this helps.

Just a thought but it might be a good idea to check you still have the baffle plate present that fits under the rocker cover. Mine was missing.

Yes I do have that thankfully :) I'm going to vent to air into a catch tank (plastic bottle) for a few days to see if it helps and to monitor oil loss.

Thanks Jakemate - that makes sense now. I'll also be trying the breather in the bottle trick and see if it reveals anything.
